ABOUT ME
Carol Neil CPDT-KA
My business was born out of a lifelong, joyful, love for dogs. My mission is to teach and assist people in creating joy-filled, loving, and positive relationships with their 4-legged best friends. Of course ultimately, this means far fewer dogs surrendered to shelters or euthanized for behaviour issues.
I began my dog centred career at the Edmonton Humane Society in September of 2010. I am a CPDT – KA through the Certification Counsel for Professional Dog Trainers. I am a Fear Free Certified Professional and a certified L.E.G.S. Family Dog Mediator, who is dedicated to protecting the physical, as well as emotional well being of your dog. I am always looking to further my education in the latest and best science-based information to support you and your dog. I have completed workshops, classes and courses with Dr. Jessica Hekman, Andrew Hale, Kim Brophey, Malena DeMartini, Turid Rugaas, Dr. Amy Pike, Dr. Eduardo Fernandez, Dr. Jill Goldman, Kathy Sdao, Dr. Karen Overall, Michael Shikashio, Trish McMillan, Debbie Jacobs, Sue Sternberg, Dr. Sophia Yin, Grisha Stewart, Nicole Wilde, Dr. Susan Friedman, Dr. Tim Lewis, Dr. Karolina Westlund, Dr. Hannah Capon, Dr. Laura Donaldson, Sindhoor Panghal, Robyn Hood, Rachel Leather Daniel Shaw, Danielle Beck and Sarah Fisher
In 2016, I founded the Alberta Force Free Alliance, an organization that provides a listing of force free business options for dog caregivers, as well as educates the public on the science behind force free training and handling. This organization is dedicated to the life and memory of my dog Cash, who inspired me to seek out a science based education in dog training and behaviour and leave behind old school balanced, alpha/dominance based and aversive training and behaviour modification approaches.
My husband Gord and I share our lives with our dog, Gracie, our 2 cats, Ari and Frankie, our bird, Merlin and our 3 grandchildren, Tinsley, Keyan and Greyer.
